bseoa vs Lumar: pricing, features, and which one to pick (2026)

Lumar, called DeepCrawl until 2022, is an enterprise cloud platform for crawling very large sites: scheduled crawls, log file integrations, Search Console data, GEO reporting, automated QA tests and an MCP server, sold as modules on a quote. bseoa is a desktop crawler and CLI you buy once for $279: it audits from your own machine with no page quota, renders JavaScript and runs inside Claude and ChatGPT. Lumar is built for teams running a large site on a contract; bseoa is built for one person or a small team who wants the audit without the contract.

What Lumar's help center documents about how usage is charged: crawls draw on account credits; rendering with images adds 0.1 credits per URL, and saving HTML or screenshots adds 0.1 credits per URL each. GEO reporting, the MCP server and the Splunk log integration are add-ons to a subscription. A new crawl defaults to 100,000 URLs or 100 levels deep. Lumar does not publish a trial; the pricing page offers a demo.

  1. Lumar has no CLI. It has a GraphQL API, service-account authentication for CI and scheduled agents, and Lumar Protect test suites that run SEO checks against builds.
  2. Lumar's MCP server at mcp.lumar.io works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other remote-MCP clients and exposes crawls, reports and AI Visibility data. Its docs say it needs "the MCP Server subscription addon".
  3. Lumar's GEO reporting scores AI Discovery (crawlability, availability, renderability, indexability), AI Understanding and AI Inclusion, and works best with log files connected. Its help article says to contact your Customer Success Manager if GEO reporting is not part of your subscription.
