Find your symptom below. Most problems are one of five things, and the first check for almost all of them is the same: ask your assistant for your Black SEO Analyzer account status. It reports whether hosted access is active, your plan, and how many pages you have left.
Error codes the assistant may quote are in monospace. The full list is on the connector reference.
Check spam and any "promotions" folder; the sender is blackseoanalyzer.com. The code and the link are good for 15 minutes. If they've expired, go back to the sign-in window and request a new one. Company mail filters sometimes hold the message for a few minutes; the code still works if it arrives inside the 15.
The link finishes sign-in in the browser window where you started connecting. If you opened it on another device, or that window is gone, the page offers Finish connecting in this tab; use it. Then go back to the assistant and ask again. If it still isn't connected, remove the connector in the assistant's settings, add it again and sign in once more.
Some corporate mail systems open every link before you do, which would use up a one-time link. Ours asks for a click first, so the link should still work; if the page reports it's already used, type the 6-digit code from the same email instead.
insufficient_scopeIt connected with read-only access and you asked it to run an audit. Remove the connector, add it again, and on the Allow screen accept running audits and reading results.
Each email is its own account with its own trial and crawls. Remove the connector, add it again and sign in with the address you meant to use. If you bought a license, sign in with the email on the receipt so the hosted add-on price applies.
It didn't call the connector. Name it: "Use Black SEO Analyzer to check https://example.com/ for SEO problems." In ChatGPT, also check that the app is turned on for the conversation. In a new chat, the first mention is usually enough for the rest of it.
Say "check" for one page and "audit" or "crawl" for a site. "Check https://example.com/ for SEO problems" is a single-page check, even for a homepage. If a crawl started by mistake, ask for its status and let it finish or run out; one crawl runs at a time per account.
That's right. The connector reads and reports; it never logs in or writes to a site. Ask for the fix instead and apply it yourself or hand the ticket to your developer.
No tool returns page source. If the assistant needs the markup, it can fetch the public URL itself with its own browsing tool, if it has one.
Hosted crawls fetch at most two pages a second from a site, so 500 pages take four to five minutes and the assistant may stop waiting before that. Ask for the crawl's status; it reports pages done so far. When it's finished, ask for the summary. Sites that answer slowly, or that rate-limit us, take longer still.
too_many_running_crawlsOne crawl runs per account at a time. Ask for the status of the running one; the next starts when it finishes. This also happens when the same account is used from Claude and ChatGPT at once.
blocked_targetThe URL points at a private or internal address, such as a staging host only reachable on your network, or the site's owner has asked us not to crawl it from the hosted connector. Audit it from your own machine with the desktop app or CLI, which crawl anything you can reach.
not_available_hosted or the content looks emptyHosted doesn't render JavaScript, so a single-page app can show as a near-empty page, which is also what a crawler sees before rendering. For a rendered audit, run the desktop app or CLI locally, where rendering is included.
Crawls stop at the page count you asked for (500 if you didn't say), at 2,000, or at whatever your budget has left. Pages blocked by robots.txt, behind a login or not linked from any crawled page are skipped. Ask for a bigger page count, or check the budget with account status.
Results are kept 30 days on a trial and 90 on a plan, counted from the last time you read them. A crawl you haven't looked at since then has been deleted. Reading a crawl, even just asking for its summary, resets the clock.
Hosted crawls obey robots.txt and never exceed two requests a second per site. A site owner can block the hosted crawler with User-agent: BlackSEOAnalyzer-Hosted / Disallow: / in robots.txt, or write to hello@blackseoanalyzer.com and we add the domain to the deny list.
trial_expired or no_hosted_addonYour 14 hosted days are up, or the account has no hosted plan yet. In Claude, ask for account status and it gives you the checkout link for the plan that fits. In ChatGPT, pick a plan on the pricing page and sign in there with the same email. The connector sees the plan within a minute; ask for account status, then try again. The desktop app and CLI trial is separate and keeps working.
quota_exceededThe rolling 30-day page budget is used up: 5,000 pages on the trial, 25,000 on a plan. The message says when it resets. Single-page checks, search previews and documentation lookups keep working, since they never count.
The account is matched by email, so the email at checkout must be the one you signed in with. If it isn't, write to hello@blackseoanalyzer.com with both addresses and we join them. Otherwise wait a minute and ask for account status again.
The $15 add-on applies to the account that holds the license. Sign in with the email on your license receipt, or on the sign-in page choose I have a license key and paste the key; the account then shows the add-on price.
rate_limitedMore than 30 single-page checks, previews or lookups in a minute. Wait the seconds the message names and ask again.
no_licenseThe local server has no active license, or the trial ended. Start the free trial or buy a license, run bseoa license store <key>, and restart the host so it starts the server again.
command not foundDesktop hosts don't always inherit your shell PATH. Use the absolute path from which bseoa (where bseoa on Windows) in the host's config. bseoa and black-seo-analyzer are the same program.
Local results live in the SQLite file named by --db-path. Give every host and every CLI command the same absolute path. Hosted crawls are separate from local ones; they live in your account, not in that file.
Setup for each host is on the connector page.
Email hello@blackseoanalyzer.com with the email you signed in with, which assistant you're using, and the error code or the assistant's exact words. We read every message.
