# The bseoa connector

Nine audit tools your assistant calls directly: check a page, crawl a site, summarize the issues, drill into one URL, compare two crawls, preview the search snippet. Results persist between conversations. Local today; a hosted connector URL for ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Perplexity and Grok is coming.

## Other desktop hosts

Each host below starts the same local MCP server with `bseoa mcp`.

`bseoa` and `black-seo-analyzer` are the same binary; if yours is installed under the long name, use that name in the configs or add a symlink. Hosts do not always inherit your shell PATH: if one reports `command not found`, use the absolute path from `which bseoa` (`where bseoa` on Windows).

### Perplexity for Mac

Go to **Settings → Connectors → Add Connector → MCP** and enter this command:

```

Install the PerplexityXPC helper when the app offers it, run `bseoa license store` first, and use the absolute path: the helper does not read your shell PATH. Replace `/usr/local/bin/bseoa` with the output of `which bseoa` if you installed it elsewhere (the skill installs to `~/.local/bin`).

## Browser hosts

ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Perplexity remote connectors and Grok need a hosted connector URL. It is being built. Until then, use the skill:

## The nine tools

check_page

Audit one URL immediately and return its SEO issues. The fast path for "what is wrong with this page?".

start_crawl

Start crawling a whole site in the background and return a job id immediately.

crawl_status

Report the progress and state of a background crawl started by start_crawl.

list_crawls

List the crawl sessions stored in the database with their start URL, dates and page count.

issues_summary

Summarize a crawl: counts by severity, category and issue key, with example URLs per key.

query_issues

List individual bseoa.issue/v1 issues from a crawl, filtered by severity, key, category or URL prefix.

page_report

Report everything recorded about one crawled URL, including its full issue list. Never returns page HTML.

compare_crawls

Compare two crawls and report new, fixed and persisting issues.

serp_preview

Show how each URL's title and description will look in a search result, including truncation.
