# Connector FAQ

Questions people ask before and after adding Black SEO Analyzer to Claude or ChatGPT.

[Add to Claude](https://claude.ai/directory/black-seo-analyzer) [Add to ChatGPT](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6ad9978e280c81918baeec10e596e262)

Do I need to install anything?

No. In Claude or ChatGPT, open the Black SEO Analyzer listing, add it and sign in with your email. Crawls run on our servers and the results are kept in your account. The desktop app and the Claude Desktop bundle are for people who want to crawl from their own machine instead.

What does it cost?

The first time you sign in you get 14 days of hosted use free, with 5,000 crawled pages and no card. After that a hosted plan is $15 a month or $120 a year if you own a bseoa Single or Agency License, or $50 a month or $500 a year without one. Both include 25,000 crawled pages every rolling 30 days and keep results 90 days.

Which Claude and ChatGPT plans does it work with?

Any plan that lets you add connectors or apps from the directory. If the listing opens and shows a Connect or Add button, you can use it. The connector itself has no plan requirement beyond your Black SEO Analyzer account.

What can I ask it to do?

Check one page, crawl a site of up to 2,000 pages, summarize the issues by severity and type, list the individual issues with filters, report everything about one URL, compare two crawls, preview how titles and descriptions look in search results, explain what an issue means and how to fix it, and report your plan and page budget. Eleven tools in all; the assistant picks them from your plain-language request.

Does it change my website?

No. It fetches public pages the way a search engine would, at most two requests a second, and obeys robots.txt. It never logs in to a site, submits a form or edits anything. Ask the assistant to change your site and it will tell you it can't.

What counts against the page budget?

Pages fetched by a crawl. Single-page checks, search previews, documentation lookups and account status never count. When the budget is used up, crawls wait until it resets and single-page checks keep working.

How big a crawl can it run?

Up to 2,000 pages in one crawl, and never more than your account has left in its budget. If you don't say a page count, the assistant crawls up to 500. One crawl runs per account at a time; a second one waits in the queue.

Does it render JavaScript?

Not on hosted. The hosted connector audits the HTML a server sends, which is what most search engines index first. For single-page apps that need rendering, run the desktop app or the CLI on your own machine, where JavaScript rendering is included.

Do results persist between chats?

Yes. Every crawl is stored in your account, not in the conversation, so you can ask about last month's crawl in a new chat, on another device, or from the other assistant. Trial results are kept 30 days and paid results 90 days, counted from the last time you read them.

What data do you keep?

Your email, the URLs you ask about, the crawl results and a record of sign-ins. The connector never receives your conversation, only the arguments of each tool call. Page HTML is used for the analysis and is never returned to the assistant or shown anywhere.

Can I use the same account in both Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes. Sign in with the same email in each one. They share the account, the plan, the page budget and every stored crawl.

I already own a bseoa license. Do I need the hosted plan?

Only if you want to run audits from Claude or ChatGPT in the browser. Your license already covers the desktop app, the CLI, the Claude Desktop bundle and the local connector in Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Codex. The hosted add-on for license holders is $15 a month or $120 a year.

How do I pay when the trial ends?

In Claude, ask for your account status and it gives you the checkout link for the plan that fits your account. In ChatGPT, which doesn't handle purchases, pick a plan on our pricing page and sign in there with the same email. Either way, the connector picks the plan up within a minute.

How do I cancel or remove it?

Remove the connector in Claude's or ChatGPT's settings to stop the assistant using it. To cancel a hosted plan, write to hello@blackseoanalyzer.com from the email you signed in with. Stored crawls are deleted when their retention passes.

Why did the assistant answer from memory instead of checking my site?

It didn't call the connector. Say the name: 'use Black SEO Analyzer to check ...'. In a brand-new chat the first mention is usually enough for the rest of the conversation.
